How NaijaBay works

A simple, direct marketplace connecting Nigerian makers with buyers - no middleman, no commission.

For makers & sellers

NaijaBay is your professional storefront in front of buyers across Nigeria and the diaspora. You keep 100% of every sale - we charge a small monthly plan, never a commission. Here's how to get selling:

Step 1 - Create your free account. Sign up and choose “I want to sell” (already shop on NaijaBay? You can turn your buyer account into a seller account in one click - no new sign-up needed). We'll email you a verification link - click it to unlock listing (it keeps the marketplace trusted and spam-free).

Step 2 - Set up your storefront (about 5 minutes). Add your logo and a cover photo, your store name and tagline, your maker story, your state & city, the categories you sell, and your WhatsApp / phone number so buyers can reach you. A live preview shows exactly how buyers will see your store as you type.

Step 3 - Add your products. For each item add clear photos, a price (or “price on request”), a description, any sizes / colours / materials, and confirm it's genuinely Made in Nigeria. Good photos and a real story get up to 3x more buyer contacts.

Step 4 - Get the Verified badge (recommended). Apply for verification to earn a trust badge - Identity Verified, Business Verified, Workshop Verified, Premium Seller, or Trusted Manufacturer. Verified stores win more trust and rank higher in search and browse.

Step 5 - Connect with buyers & sell. Buyers discover you, then message or call you directly on WhatsApp. You agree payment and delivery with them yourself and keep everything you earn. Your dashboard shows how many people viewed your products and contacted you.

About verification

Verification is how buyers know a maker is real. We review your identity and business details before granting a badge; misrepresentation can lead to removal. It's optional, but verified makers consistently earn more buyer trust - and it's free.

For buyers

1. Discover. Search verified Nigerian makers and browse authentic products by category.

2. Contact the maker. Message or call the seller directly on WhatsApp to ask questions or request custom work. (You'll need a free account to contact a seller - it keeps everyone safe.)

3. Arrange directly. Agree payment and delivery straight with the seller. NaijaBay doesn't handle payment or shipping between you and the maker.

4. Leave a review. Share your experience to help other buyers shop with confidence.
